I started RateNRave because too many product reviews sound alike. I want to show what happens when a product is actually used: what works, what gets annoying, and what is worth paying for.
The Dogman
I am the person behind RateNRave. I have worked in kitchens and used many of these tools in real situations. The site is based in the Philippines, so local electricity costs, shopping options, and everyday conditions shape the reviews.
I live in a warehouse that houses appliances and 28 rescued cats. Keeping that space dry is one reason I use and compare dehumidifiers. Kitchen equipment, home tools, pet products, and overlooked practical items are other things I check.
How I test
I test products the way they are actually used. Depending on the product, I check wattage, heat, speed, timing, build, and performance over repeated use, using watt readers, meters, temperature tools, and original photos.
Most devices are used for at least a week. Each review should explain the conditions behind its observations; that general approach is not a claim that every product was tested for an identical period. A reading at one moment also does not prove a product’s total running cost or performance in every home.
I separate things I personally measured from specifications and buying information. If a feature or result was not checked, I will not invent a score or test result. If something is bad, I will say it; if it is good but has issues, those belong in the review too.

The Dogman rating guide
🐶🔥 Great — Dogman Approved: A strong recommendation for the price and use described in the review. It performs well enough to earn my approval, while any drawbacks remain explicit—such as the Condura 20L’s missing control lock. Approved does not mean flawless.
🐶👍 Workable — Dogman Approved: Gets the job done, with some flaws that may be acceptable for your needs.
🐶🤏 Adequate: Works, but expect compromises. A bare-minimum option rather than an easy recommendation.
🐶💀 Dog Barf: Would not recommend because of problems or performance that falls short.
A rating is my judgment from the evidence in that review. It is not a laboratory certification, and I do not add ratings where the test does not support one.
One person, first-hand reviews
RateNRave is currently run by me. The reviews are based on what I have used, checked, and measured. Any future guest contribution must identify its author and provide first-hand observations, original photos, and a clear account of how the product was tested.
